DJ Emir Ljaljević is one of the most respected tango DJs in the Balkans, known for his elegant musical line, deep emotional sensitivity, and intuitive feel for the dance floor. Based in Podgorica, he has been promoting Argentine tango for more than a decade as an organizer and instructor at the Buena Vista Tango School. This year, he also participated as one of the young mentors in the project “Tango Unity: Embracing Differences Through Dance led by Familija Tangovi Skopje in partnership with Buena Vista Dance School Podgorica. As a DJ, Emir crafts his sets as stories — with an introduction, development, and climax — guiding dancers through different moods, from gentle nostalgia to pure joy. His selection combines classic orchestras from the Golden Age with rare recordings and instrumental gems that create a unique atmosphere. He is known for his ability to read the energy of the dancers and shape the rhythm of the night so that every moment becomes memorable. Emir has performed at festivals and marathons throughout Montenegro, Greece, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia. He believes that a true tango DJ is the guardian of the atmosphere — someone who not only maintains the energy but creates a shared experience that unites everyone on the dance floor.
